Eco Friendly Doucett Duvall

Originally the designers, Stephanie Doucett and Annebet Duvall, met as two neighbors in Little Italy, Manhattan. Their want to replicate and also update vintage styles from their mother's and grandmother's closets of the past, lead to the creation and collaboration of Doucett Duvall. The two set out to design a line that's both chic as well as eco friendly. They use pre-existing fabrics and trim to make their adorable dresses, skirts, coats and more- and only ship with recycled boxes. It's imperative to them that they continue to design lasting 'green' clothing in their pursuit to help keep the Earth safe and fashion forward. The entire collection is made from the New York Fashion District and a portion of all their proceeds go to Build It Green, a non-profit organization with the same eco-friendly approach. Today, you can find Doucett Duvall pieces on giltgroup at a guilt-free price, but hurry they won't last long!

With Shower's, Comes Rain Boots

The most important thing to have on these rainy days, is a nice pair of rain boots. Tory Burch, Burberry and Hunter rain boots are our favorites. They are great quality boots that will last you close to a lifetime. These boots can be found for decent prices on various websites, such as zappos.com or nordstrom.com.

Ashley Olsen and Rachel Bilson spotted wearing their Hunter rain boots.

Alessandra Ambrosio Lands the Moschino Campaign

Alessandra's new claim to fame, aside from Victoria Secret fashion show, Prada, Giles, and Louis Vuitton runways is getting the Fall 2010 Moschino Campaign. Honestly, I think its time that some other Victoria Secret Model, besides Gisele, gets more high end fashion related work, they are all gorgeous. We are both really excited to see her in this campaign.

Tsumori Chisato Lace-Up Wedge

Saw these via Highsnobette and couldn't take my eyes off of them. These wedges are unique and can spice up any casual outfit. Try pairing them with a pair of high-waisted jean shorts and a cropped top. They are available in a darker shade, I must say I prefer the white on cream wedge. Check them out on www.openceremony.com.

Olivia Palermo

New York Socialite, Olivia Palermo, seems to be popping up everywhere. She lives an amazing life, attending only the most exclusive parties, fashion shows, etc. She knows how to keep her life interesting and more importantly for our purposes, she has a unique and incredible fashion sense. On numerous occasions she has been featured on one of our favorite blogs, The Sartorialist, and I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of her as time passes. While we fully endorse her put-together/glam clothing choices... we're not so sure about her attitude/word-choice. Can't win them all.

Olivia and her gorgeous beau, Johannes Huebl.

Apiece Apart

Apiece Apart is a company based in New York. The designers, Laura Cramer and Starr Hout, look for inspiration from the beauty of modern architecture and simplified forms. The sophisticated, chic clothing is based off of gridline-like patterns, for a "less is more look" stated by the designers. Laura and Starr want women to feel like they can wear their clothing everyday and not only admire the clothing but treat them like a treasure. I really love this Spring collection. I think its fresh and practical and I have to add that the models hair is absolutely gorgeous.
Even better is you can purchase their products from a store called Habitat Shoes in Leawood, KS. Not far from here at all.

Today's Special: Free People on Gilt

Where might one find fashionable clothing at ridiculously low prices? Gilt Group! Gilt is a website that features different sales daily on designer clothing. Today the spotlight's on Free People, and their always hippy boho chic collection set for spring/summer. Personally I like the tank-tops, but the skirts are also a perfect throw-on before heading out the door on a busy summer day. After browsing through what's available on gilt today, I went to the Free People website... bad idea because I spent about an hour looking through all of their sooo cute new clothes. My suggestion? Check out Gilt first to get the best deal, but if you don't find what you like go to freepeople.com. I promise there's something for everyone and something absolutely adorable at that.

Talbots Rebirth

While doing a finance homework assignment the other day (ugh), I saw this article in the Wall Street Journal and it really caught my attention. First of all, I would have never thought to even think about Talbots as a fashion-forward store. Nor would I ever recommend this store to women, but I may have to reconsider. Talbot, after facing millions of dollars in debt during the recession is going through a major facelift. They are ridding themselves of all of their debt, along with innovating their style to a more fashion-forward middle- aged market. In hopes of trying to attract a new target market their new line of clothing is actually really cute and a big leap from their pervious collections. You can read the article via nymag.com or from wsj.com.

Who knew Shrek was a model...

I saw this photo shoot via Highsnobiety.com and was really excited, considering I had just watched the second Shrek yesterday.
Famous Photographer, Ellen von Unwerth, shot the unique, yet hilarious "Shrek of a Guy" photo spread for an issue in VMAN magazine. The recognizable characters in Shrek are featured for inspiration for the upcoming 4th... (sequel?) Emma Dupont is featured in this spread as a congratulatory prize for winning the V Model/Ford Model search. These pictures put a smile on my face and really stand out from the typical movie promotional photos you usually see.

Food for the Sunday Studying Soul

I Will Wade Out
by E. E. Cummings

i will wade out
till my thighs are steeped in burning flowers
I will take the sun in my mouth
and leap into the ripe air
Alive
with closed eyes
to dash against darkness
in the sleeping curves of my body
Shall enter fingers of smooth mastery
with chasteness of sea-girls
Will i complete the mystery
of my flesh
I will rise
After a thousand years
lipping
flowers
And set my teeth in the silver of the moon
